What Is The Naya Flowers Project?
​Naya Flowers is a lit mag community project hosted by Naya Magazine. The goal of this project is to raise awareness, give creative space, and support the AANHPI community during the month of May.
​
In participation of this event, As Alive Journal's team is offering free editorial services in exchange for a donation to a charity that supports AANHPI communities!
Linked below are our volunteers' recommended charities. While you are welcome to pick a different charity than the ones listed, please make sure it still supports AANHPI initiatives.

- Asian Arts and Culture Trust (AACT)
- Canadian Society for Asian Arts (SCAA)
- Stop AAPI Hate
- Asian American Writers' Workshop (AAWW)

Our Guidelines
What We Will Edit

Fantasy, Horror, and Sci-Fi

We will accept writing in languages other than English as long as there is an English translation attached

Exception: titles don't need translations, but if you'd like to include one, that's fine too

Word/Page counts​

For PROSE — you can submit 1 prose piece per submission, with a limit of 3,000 words (or within reason)​

For POETRY — you can submit up to 3 poems in the same file, with a limit of 3 pages (or within reason) per open call

Formatting ​

We accept .doc or .docx file types

Writing Submission Formatting

for PROSE — 12 pt. legible font, indented paragraphs, double-spaced lines

for POETRY — 12 pt. legible font, poems can be single-spaced

What We Will Not Edit
-
We will not offer edits to works of literary fiction or nonfiction.

We will not offer edits to works that promote hatred towards any marginalized group, graphic depictions of sexual violence, or AI-generated trash.

If you submit any of this to us, your charitable AAPI donation will be appreciated, but we will not send you an edit in return.
